- For years you've seen people lugging around large, heavy Beta SP cameras to do video shooting. If you've ever seen a mobile news truck shooting something for the six o'clock news, that's what they were likely using. The picture quality was great, but it was analog, which meant you had long runs of BNC cables running back to the switcher if you were switching live. Then you had to go back to the studio and convert it to digital in the video editor. Not only that but the cameras were obscenely expensive, which meant doing a professional multi-camera shoot could get expensive in a hurry.
- It's no secret that analog is becoming a dinosaur, and we are pleased to announce that we have recently upgraded to full digital. We sold the old Beta cam and purchased four Sony VX2000 digital cameras, and the picture quality is as good or better than Beta! The cameras are smaller, lighter, and less expensive than the old Beta cam, which means we can now do a (4) camera shoot of your meeting, conference, or concert without the need for additional camera rentals. We can switch live using our Data Video digital switcher, then dump the footage into Final Cut Pro via Firewire.
